Children's Literature Resource Center

Children's Literature Resource Center

Tamer Institute, in cooperation with the Ministries of Culture and Education, established the Children's Literature Resource Center in the year 2000. Created with the intention of becoming an integrated intellectual space that supports children's and youth’s literature and culture, it serves as a space for dialogue and reflection where practitioners and researchers can exchange visions and advance critical discourse.

The center has been envisioned from the start as a catalyst for building a network of children’s libraries in Palestine and strengthening their impact. In this framework, the center works to collect and make the productions of children and youth in their diverse forms available, including books, artistic works, and multimedia, in addition to providing studies, research, and sources that explore children’s experiences and examine their learning paths. The center also seeks to develop the skills and capacity building of those working with children and children's books through training, workshops, and "apprenticeship" sessions with practitioners and experts from diverse backgrounds and contexts around the world.

The center publishes Tayf magazine, a semi-annual critical journal that aims to enrich the discussion on children’s literature and develop critical and intellectual approaches in working with children in educational, cultural, and community contexts. In this respect, the Resource Center constitutes a vital space for enhancing the capabilities of those in the field of children’s literature to express and create, bridging local practices with international expertise and standards within the fields of children's literature and community education.
